The Challenge

Plated was a new startup and needed to grow rapidly. The challenge was to find new ways to grow outside of the traditional channels. At the time Facebook was not known as a growth channel but we were not only able to make it work but we were one of the first major success stories for Facebook ads.

The Process

I lead all of the efforts on Facebook ads, which is where the majority of our acquisition took place. We started with social engagement campaigns but quickly transitioned to conversion campaigns. We experimented endlessly and figured out multiple methods to drive conversions through Facebook. Later we expanded and also helped write the book on acquisition through native channels like Taboola and Outbrain.
