The Challenge

UW Stout was interested in analyzing their current performance for all of their student programs. They were also building an in house marketing team and wanted someone who could be hands on as well as mentor/coach the team in Google Ads and growth marketing strategy.

The Process

  1. Listen: Consultation with the team to understand the pain points and where they wanted to take their efforts.
  2. Audit: Reviewing the account and documenting gaps and pros in an audit document.
  3. Review: Review the audit details and plan of action with the team. Set expectations for how long it will take me to implement and check-in dates.
  4. Implement: Optimizing the account included creating new campaigns, managing existing, ad creative updates and creating video tutorials and a guidelines doc for the team to follow.
  5. Final review & optimization: At this stage I consulted on larger strategy and showed the team how to maintain the Google account.

Snagajob

Snagajob is a leader in the job boards space. I was brought on as a contractor to help them with digital media buying for a new service they were offering. Snagajob Workers allows people to apply to Snagajob, then select shifts they want to work with local companies. On-demand shifts with weekly payouts. I helped determine budgets for various channels, determine what efficiency goals were expected, what channels we should be in, then executed the media buying and optimized to bring down 'cost per applicant' as much as possible.

Atlassian

Atlassian, a B2B workplace collaboration software company, was heading towards a cloud-first future where it needed to move its marketing processes from being focused on high-touch single product journeys to now self-serve (user onboards on their own), low-touch (light chat support based on bronze/silver status) and high-touch (gold status, enterprise customers) across many products and apps.

The technology, marketing and sales teams were misaligned, and looked for a partner who could speak marketing + sales + technology, which was the role I played. My responsibility was in leading product managers and program managers to enable strategies in lifecycle marketing (prospects growth, lead acquisition, nurture programming, conversion and retention) and move freemium users through the upgrade path, with the goal of activating low-CAC flywheel marketing.
